Illex Soft Lures

The soft lures from the Illex & Jackall brand are born from the very latest innovations and field results of a team of passionate anglers and competitors. From finesse to swimbait, from creature to shad, from grub to frog, there is something for every condition and every environment.

Our team of enthusiasts' selection

- Magic Swing Tail,
- Sucker Punch,
- Driftfry,
- Magic Slim Shad,
- Nitro Shad,
- Dexter Shad,
- Deraball,
- Dunkle and many other models.

Which Illex soft lure should you choose?

Find the Sucker Punch, the Deraball, the Dexter Shad and Eel, and the Dunkle for pike. The Magic Craw, the Fivoss and the Magic Slim Shad for perch and black bass, the Magic Z Shad and the Fat Shad for zander and not forgetting the Nitro Shad and the Magic Swing Tail for sea bass.

Lure colour

As for colour, the starting point will be the environment. The clearer it is, the more natural colours you will use; the more opaque it is, the more flashy colours or dark shades — even black — you will use. This is a baseline that will need to be adjusted from day to day.

Lure vibration

As for vibration, the noisier the environment, the more we need our lure to be detected, the more we seek to emit vibrations through the swimming action, shape, plastic stiffness and the animation we impart to the lure. The calmer the environment, the more we can use discreet lures and slow animations.

Size

Size will also be a determining factor. In general, the colder the water, the larger the lure used. However, you must also take into account the size of the prey and adapt your choice based on what you see beneath the surface and the target species.

Classic sizes by species:

- Perch: 3 to 8cm
- Zander: 5 to 12cm
- Pike: 10 to 20cm
- Sea bass: 8 to 14cm

These few tips remain a baseline and, in the absence of bites or follows, do not hesitate to think outside the box!

If you have any questions about choosing a rod, the rigs appropriate to your fishing area or the type of line (braid, monofilament, fluorocarbon) to fit on your reel, do not hesitate to contact us via our website, by phone or by visiting us in person at our Ardent Pêche shop.
