Description

Tiny X Layer by Megabass

The Tiny X Layer by Megabass is the small-size version of the Super X Layer. This mini version is perfect for targeting smaller specimens or when predators are focusing on small prey. It is an atypical soft lure due to its lack of a tail or appendages. It is a lure perfectly suited to vertical fishing, as well as casting techniques.

Tips from our team of enthusiasts

Rigging the Tiny X Layer

The Tiny X Layer is ideal for Texas rigs (Decoy VJ-36 size #2), drop-shot (hook Decoy Worm 23 size 8 to 10) or on a jig head (Decoy SV 51 size #4) for darting techniques.

If you want your lure to glide more, mount it "upside down" with the flat side facing down. This will give your lure more lift. It is also very interesting for fly or darting techniques so that the lure "slides" further to each side.

The colour

As for colour, the starting point will be the environment. The clearer it is, the more natural tones you will use; the more opaque it is, the more flashy or dark shades — even black — you will use. This is a baseline that will need to be adjusted from day to day.

Choose a transparent colour for sunny days, an opaque version when the light fades at the beginning and end of the day.

Our saltwater team has a real favourite for two colours

  • Ayu: for fishing in clear water,
  • Solid White: for fishing in stained water in low light and at night.

Our freshwater team loves these two colours

  • Ayu: for fishing in clear water
  • Solid White: for fishing in stained water in low light.
