Super X Layer by Megabass
The Super X Layer by Megabass has been around for over 20 years and remains just as effective! It is an atypical soft lure due to its lack of a tail or appendages. It is perfectly suited for vertical fishing as well as fly-lining. Its attractant and rattle truly make the difference on certain days.

Tips from our team of enthusiasts
Rigging the Super X Layer
The Super X Layer is ideal for Texas rigs (DECOY VJ-36 in 2/0 or 3/0), drop shot, as well as on a jig head (Duo BR Fish Head or MADNESS Bakuree Head) for darting techniques.
If you want your lure to glide more, mount it "upside down" with the flat side facing down. This will give your lure more lift. It is also very interesting for fly-lining or darting techniques so that the lure "slides" further to each side.
The color
When it comes to color, the starting point will be the environment. The clearer it is, the more natural tones you should use; the more stained it is, the more flashy or darker shades — even up to black — you should use. This is a base that will need to be adjusted from day to day.
Choose a transparent color for sunny days, and an opaque version when the light fades at the beginning and end of the day.
Our saltwater team has a real favorite among two colors
- Ayu: for fishing in clear water,
- Chart Pearl: for fishing in stained water under low light conditions and at night.
Our freshwater team loves these two colors
- Ayu: for fishing in clear water
- Orange Green: for fishing in stained water under low light conditions.
