Fishing lure ILLEX Mag squad 128 SP

A suspending jerkbait built for performance

Slender profile and perfect balance

The ILLEX Mag Squad 128 SP hard lure features a slender profile typical of jerkbait minnows, ideal for imitating a vulnerable baitfish. Its balanced design and precisely shaped lip give it remarkable stability in action.

It maintains a controlled and attractive action, whether you use sharp, sweeping, or more subtle animations. This stability allows it to remain effective whatever the conditions — wind, current, or high fishing pressure.

Sophisticated and non-aggressive sound device

The internal system combines glass balls and metal balls to produce a specific sound, blending low and high frequencies.

This complex acoustic signal stimulates the curiosity of predators without frightening them, a major asset for triggering strikes from wary or heavily pressured fish.

A simple, devastatingly effective action

Control of active phases and pauses

The basic action relies on alternating more or less pronounced jerks with pause phases. Thanks to its suspending behavior, the Mag Squad 128 SP remains perfectly still in the water column during stops.

This ability to remain suspended allows you to precisely control the duration of pauses, a key parameter in jerkbait minnow pike fishing. The majority of bites actually occur during these static phases, when the lure appears vulnerable.

A technique too often underused

Pike fishing with a jerkbait minnow remains underused, even though it proves extremely effective. The Mag Squad 128 SP stands out as a technical benchmark for making the most of this approach, especially when fish are active but selective.

Its versatility also allows it to produce excellent results on other predator species, including in difficult conditions.
