Description
Dragonbait Trout 8'3 Large Stream, a spinning rod for large rivers
A rod designed for large salmonids
The Dragonbait Trout 8'3 Large Stream is aimed at anglers who fish for trout and large salmonids in wide, powerful, or deep rivers. It was designed to meet the demands of long-distance fishing, where precision, line control, and the ability to handle a hard-fighting fish become essential.
Its semi-progressive action offers an excellent compromise between casting comfort, absorption of head shakes, and striking power. It helps reduce the risk of hook pulls or breakages, while maintaining good authority over larger fish.
A balance between tradition and performance
The Dragonbait Trout Series combines modern technology with traditional finishes. The reel seat and butt in solid Maple burl, a natural maple knot, give each rod a unique finish. The butt also contributes to the overall balance by lowering the balance point to ease wrist movements.
The AAA cork grip offers comfort, durability, and a quality feel in the hand. This carefully crafted design allows for long hours of precise fishing, while maintaining the pleasure of elegant and effective tackle.
A light and refined finish
The single-foot guides contribute to the lightness and slenderness of the rod. The wrappings are made with a fine, strong thread, which reduces the amount of epoxy varnish required and results in a smoother, lighter, and more responsive build.
This attention to detail improves the transmission of information and enhances the feel during fishing, particularly during drifts, slow retrieves, or subtle takes.
Ideal for powerful lures in large rivers
The Dragonbait Trout 8'3 Large Stream allows the use of heavy spoons, lipped crankbaits, and heavy sinking lures. Its sensitivity allows you to follow the behaviour of the lure, while its reserve of power in the butt ensures solid strikes and good control during the fight.
It will suit demanding anglers looking for an elegant, high-performing rod perfectly suited to large rivers.
