The Flashmer Stewart knife rig is a technical reference for live bait and natural bait anglers. This double or triple hook rig, mounted in a sliding position on the body of the bait, allows a perfectly natural presentation while guaranteeing a maximum hook-up rate.
Principle of the Stewart rig
The Stewart rig, or knife rig, uses two hooks connected by braid or a strong line threaded through the body of a worm or small fish. The front hook is placed in the head of the bait, the rear hook exits at mid-body, allowing the bait to swim or drift naturally without falling apart on the cast.
Applications
Ideal for fishing sea bream, bass, sargo and rock fish with natural baits such as sand eel, ragworm, shrimp or small minnow. This rig optimises bite detection and hook point penetration on the strike.
