FLASHMER Crab Rig Leader

Flashmer Crab Rig: Gilt-head bream at its best

The Flashmer crab rig is a specialist leader, designed to optimise the presentation of crab or green crab as a natural bait for sparid fishing. Recognised as one of the most effective baits for gilt-head bream and sargo, a correctly rigged crab triggers strikes from even the most wary individuals.

Crab mounting technique

The construction of this leader incorporates the hooks and retention elements needed to secure the crab firmly without damaging it excessively, so as to preserve its natural movements. This rig allows the crab to be presented either whole or cut, according to fish preferences.

Zones and target species

Used over rocky and mixed ground frequented by sparids (gilt-head bream, common sargo, black-headed sargo, red porgy), this rig is suitable for shore fishing from rocks, light surf casting and boat fishing in coastal areas.
