What length?

For your leader, use a rod-length, longer if the water is very clear, if you need to minimize braid vibrations (vertical fishing), or to restore some elasticity to your rig.

The case of pike

For pike, you can keep a certain length of fluoro as a "stealth leader" and add a mini 60° wire tip to reduce the risk of bite-offs. The larger the diameter, the lower the risk.
