Shimano Curado K casting reels

The Curado K reels integrate advanced technologies, such as the HAGANE aluminium frame for optimum rigidity, MicroModule gears for smooth retrieval, and the SVS Infinity system ensuring precise cast control. The S3D spool reduces vibrations, while the Cross Carbon brake guarantees consistent power.

Suited to a variety of techniques, these reels are a reference in the world of lure fishing in pursuit of pike, perch, zander, catfish, etc. The 301 model, with a 4.7:1 ratio and a brake capacity of 10 kg, is perfect for heavy fishing targeting large predators with big swimbaits, jerkbaits, shads, grubs, etc.

How to choose a fishing reel?

Rod balance

Choose a reel suited to your rod — one that will balance the rod, but also allow you to cast the lures intended for the rod's power rating.

The bearings

For a casting reel, the crucial point is the spool's rotation capacity. The smoother the rotation and the lower the resistance, the farther you will be able to cast and with lighter lure weights. It is therefore important to look carefully at the number and quality of the bearings in the reel.

The ratio

Another important point is the retrieval ratio. A standard ratio delivers 75–80 cm of line per handle turn. You should therefore choose your reel's ratio according to the fishing techniques you wish to use.

If you have any questions about choosing a rod, the rigs appropriate for your fishing area or the type of line (braid, monofilament, fluorocarbon) to set up on your reel, do not hesitate to contact us via our website, by phone or by visiting us in person at our Ardent Pêche shop.
