The Deraball: the ultimate weapon for fishing pike along the margins and over weed beds.
The Illex Deraball is an ultra-easy-to-use cranking shad (cast and retrieve on a straight retrieve) — simply cast and reel in, the lure does the rest! This ultra-compact little swimbait displaces a lot of water and its tail produces powerful vibrations. Because it is super dense, this little lure skips very easily (skipping across the water surface), allowing you to explore areas under overhanging vegetation where pike hide. It is truly the go-to lure for the beginning of the season or when predators are hiding in the weed beds.
Thread your fluorocarbon (minimum 60 lb) or steel leader through the lure and tie it to the treble hook, which should then be planted under the lure using the lugs. Its "line thru" system allows the lure to slide up the line during the fight, thus extending its lifespan. The ultra-sharp treble hook is mounted on a swivel to minimize hook-ups falling off.
If you want to explore deeper water layers (we highly recommend it!), simply add a bullet weight in front of the lure.
