The CWC Guppie JR
The Guppie JR by CWC, the smaller version of the famous Guppie, Pierre Montjarret's go-to lure that he uses both in guiding and in competitions. It differs from its big brother by requiring a faster animation frequency. The Guppie sinks "flat" while oscillating side to side and, thanks to its soft tail, it remains ultra-effective even during the fall phase. You can add up to 10g of additional weight on the belly hook without altering its swim.

Tips from our team of enthusiasts
Animation
Sold with 2 soft tails, a grub (rigged) and a shad tail. With the curl tail, the lure will "glide" better through the water. Perfect for animations with lateral darts. The shad tail will be better suited for straight retrieves. We also offer replacement tails.
- On a straight retrieve, cast and reel in slowly and the lure will swim on its own.
- In Stop & Go, pause your retrieve and the lure will dart sideways. Deadly for triggering an attack from a following fish.
- With twitches, by punctuating your retrieve with sharp rod tip movements, the Guppie JR will dart sideways like a jerkbait. To make these darts longer, leave a little slack in your line.
Color
Our team's favorites
- For clear water: TR014F
- For murky water: 05
As for color, as a general rule the starting point will be the environment. The clearer it is, the more you'll use natural tones; the more turbid it is, the more you'll use flashy or dark shades, even going as far as black. This is a baseline that should be adjusted day by day.
If you have any questions about choosing a rod, the rigs suited to your fishing area, the type of line (monofilament, braid, fluorocarbon) to use on your reel, do not hesitate to contact us via our website, by phone, or by visiting our Ardent Pêche store directly.
