The Decoy L-8C Cup Rig is a ready-to-use rig featuring a concave cup that gives soft lures or natural baits the properties of a popper. This cup captures and ejects water during surface retrieves, producing the characteristic auditory and visual "blooping" of popper-type lures.
The cup principle: turning a lure into a popper
The concave cup of the L-8C acts like the mouth of a popper: when a sharp pull is made on the rod, it captures water and projects it forward, creating a splash and a popping sound. This auditory and visual stimulus attracts predatory fish to the surface (pike, bass, sea bass) that hunt by looking upward. The advantage of the Cup Rig is that it allows classic soft lures to be used on the surface without having to purchase a dedicated popper.
Versatile applications
The L-8C Cup Rig is rigged at the head of a soft lure (worm, salamander, paddletail style) for a surface presentation. It can also be used with live natural baits in coastal fishing. The M size is versatile and compatible with most soft lures from 8 to 14cm.
