Which spinning reel should you choose?

Rod balance

Choose a reel suited to your rod, meaning a reel that will balance the rod, but also one that will allow you to cast the lures intended for the rod's power rating.

The retrieve ratio

Another important point is the retrieve ratio. A standard ratio is 75-80cm of line retrieved per handle turn. You will therefore need to choose the ratio of your reel based on the fishing techniques you wish to use.
