The EGI OH SEARCH is a squid jig designed for searching out active cephalopods. This rattling model features a rattle whose components were specifically selected to produce a vibration of approximately 600 Hz, intended to be especially effective at attracting squid and cuttlefish. It differs from other models through its flat sides, which give it more rolling action, and a small projection on its back (Strobe Fin technology) that produces flashing light during retrieval. It sinks more quickly through the water column, and its features make it visible and audible from a considerable distance. The EGI OH SEARCH range has two phosphorescent eyes emitting at a wavelength of 490 nm, corresponding to a light spectrum that cephalopods can readily perceive. This series features NEON BRIGHT technology, with colorways incorporating blue, green or red UV bodies—three primary colors of light—to offer a wide range of light wavelengths in the water. Matching the reflected color to the color of the water makes the jig’s reflection easier to detect and stimulates cephalopods’ predatory instinct. Blue UV is suited to summer and winter light conditions, green UV to spring and fall, and red UV to mornings and evenings.
