The MAGNUM DERABALL is a hybrid soft lure with a unique concept, designed to trigger strikes from the most wary predators. Its tight, vibrating swimming action, combined with a compact and realistic silhouette, imitates a wide variety of prey. Deadly in shallow areas, it establishes itself as a magnet for pike, black bass, and large ambush predators.
Developed exclusively at the request of ILLEX, the MAGNUM DERABALL was born from the collaboration between Gaël Even, Thomas Vogels and the Japanese firm JACKALL. This large-format version retains the DNA of the original DERABALL while offering greater presence underwater. Halfway between a crankbait and a shad, it falls into the soft swimbait category and faithfully replicates many natural prey such as amphibians, small fish, or little rodents.
Animated with a simple straight retrieve, the MAGNUM DERABALL produces a tight, powerful, and highly stimulating swimming action. Its high density allows for long, accurate casts as well as easy skipping under overhanging vegetation. It excels at prospecting shallow areas, cluttered margins, weed beds, lily pads, submerged wood, bank cavities, and riprap. It is also possible to fish deeper by adding a free tungsten ball.
The line-through system, known as the cable car rig, allows the leader to pass through the lure. During the fight, the lure slides up the line, significantly reducing hook-offs. The rigging relies on a reinforced treble hook mounted on a rolling swivel, allowing a full 360° rotation to secure catches, even during hard-fought battles.
With a more imposing silhouette and a greater water displacement, the MAGNUM DERABALL clearly targets trophy fish. Pike, black bass, large perch, and catfish react vigorously to its pronounced vibrations and realism.
