Description
Shimano Super GT-RD, the benchmark rear drag reel
The Shimano Super GT-RD is an iconic reel designed for anglers seeking power, reliability and precision. Built to take on highly combative fish, it stands out for its exclusive Fightin' Drag system, which allows the drag setting to be quickly adjusted during the fight without interrupting the fishing action.
The Fightin' Drag system for optimal control
A true Shimano signature feature, the Fightin' Drag offers the ability to instantly switch from a pre-set drag to a more powerful one thanks to a simple lever located at the rear of the reel. This technology provides extra control during fights with powerful fish and reduces the risk of line breakage or hook loss.
Powerful and smooth retrieval
The Super GT-RD benefits from robust mechanics ensured by precision gears, combined with 3 shielded stainless steel ball bearings and 1 roller bearing. This design guarantees smooth rotation, excellent longevity and powerful retrieval, perfectly suited to feeder fishing or targeting larger fish.
Optimal line management
The AR-C aluminium spool, combined with the Aero Wrap II system, ensures even line lay and promotes longer, more accurate casts. Compatible with both monofilament and braid, this design effectively reduces the risk of tangles and improves fishing comfort.
A reel built to last
Its XT-7 body combines lightness and resistance to withstand intensive use. Available in sizes 2500 and 4000, the Super GT-RD adapts equally well to finesse fishing and more powerful techniques requiring high retrieval capacity.
