EGI-OH Search: cover water and attract attention

The EGI-OH Search are designed for active searching. Equipped with the Search Rattle sound system, they produce an acoustic signal when worked that may attract squid. For this pack, we selected two Neonbright colorways that are particularly useful for varying contrast and testing how squid respond to visual cues. 076 – Neonbright Green/Red: a combination of fluorescent green and red contrasts that changes how visible the EGI is under artificial lighting.

• 079 – Neonbright Red/Red: a predominantly red colorway that offers a different silhouette, particularly where squid appear responsive to contrast.

These two EGI provide an excellent starting point for searching the edges of lit areas, exploring transitions between light and darkness, and finding active squid.

EGI-OH K: prioritize stability and precision

Known for their stability, thanks in particular to their HYDRO FIN design, the EGI-OH K help maintain a controlled presentation as they sink. They are especially useful when squid follow an EGI without striking or when conditions call for a more subtle approach.

Two complementary colorways were selected:

• 006 – Gunkan Green (GKGR): a dark, predominantly green colorway offering a contrasting silhouette that is particularly useful in clear water.
• 054 – Hot Eye (HE): a visual alternative that lets you change the contrast and presentation when squid do not respond to the first colorway.

The EGI-OH Live stand out for their responsiveness when worked and their pronounced side-to-side movement on pulls. They let you change the EGI’s action when squid are unresponsive to a slow presentation or when you need to trigger a reaction.

When fishing an illuminated harbor at night, start by searching the edges of lit areas with an EGI-OH Search 076 Neonbright Green/Red. Transitions between light and darkness are promising spots to explore. Then switch to the Search 079 Neonbright Red/Red to try a different dominant color. If squid follow your EGI without striking, opt for an EGI-OH K 006 Gunkan Green or a K 054 Hot Eye. Slow down your movements and let the EGI work more as it sinks. When squid seem active but reluctant to strike, switch to an EGI-OH Live 034 Passion Red or a Live 042 LNW to change the lure’s pace and movement.
