SS pour « Slow Sinking ». Ce pencil coule très lentement en position horizontale. On lutilise lorsquun suivi sur la version « F » na pas abouti. En effet il pêche dans le film de leau et surtout se manie avec des jerks plus appuyés. Il peut pêcher plus rapidement. La variation de la vitesse modifie son oscillation. Excellent dans les pêches de dérive, le Sardinerun SS colle à leau et permet une utilisation dans les eaux blanches (écume) et par mer formée.
