The Flashmer Skud jig head is a technical accessory designed specifically for animating soft lures such as crayfish, creature and shrimp types. Its hook with a characteristic curve allows the lure to be rigged in a protected position (Texas or Skud), considerably reducing snagging on cluttered bottoms while maintaining a firm hook-up at the strike.
Skud rig and its advantages
The Skud rig differs from the Texas rig in the way the hook passes through the body of the lure: the point exits slightly from the side of the lure rather than the head. This positioning offers better swimming stability and an optimised penetration angle at the strike. It is particularly suited to rocky bottoms, dense vegetation areas and artificial structures.
Applications and targeted species
