The CWC Guppie
The CWC Guppie, Pierre Montjarret's favourite lure which he uses both for guided fishing and in competitions. The Guppie is a lure designed to be jerked, but which also works very well on a straight retrieve. The Guppie sinks "flat" while oscillating from side to side and, thanks to its soft tail, remains ultra-effective even during the sink phase. You can add up to 12g of additional weight to the belly hook without affecting its swimming action.

Tips from our team of enthusiasts
The presentation
Sold with 2 soft tails, a grub (rigged) and a shad. With the grub tail, the lure will "glide" more smoothly through the water. Perfect for presentations with lateral darts. The shad tail is better suited for straight retrieves. We also offer replacement tails.
- On a straight retrieve, cast and reel in slowly and the lure will swim on its own.
- In stop & go, pause your retrieve and the lure will dart sideways. Deadly for triggering the strike of a following fish.
- With twitches, by punctuating your retrieve with sharp rod tip movements, the Guppie will dart sideways like a jerkbait. To make these darts longer, leave a little slack in your line.
The colour
Our team's top picks
- For clear water: TR014F
- For murky water: C780F
As for colour, as a general rule, the starting point will be the conditions. The clearer the water, the more natural colours you should use; the more murky it is, the more flashy or dark shades — even black — you should go for. This is a base that will need to be adjusted day by day.
