The Nitro Shad 65
The Nitro Shad 65 is a soft lure of the shad type (with a paddle tail) featuring an ultra-reactive rubber body, tight vibration, and Nitro Booster attractant. It is a benchmark lure for targeting sea bass, perch, and zander, especially when they are focused on small prey. Designed for predator fishing in saltwater and freshwater, this compact shad has a powerful, high-frequency swimming action thanks to the specific shape of its paddle tail and the liveliness of its rubber body. To rig it correctly, don't forget the Nitro Shad heads.

Tips from our team of enthusiasts
Nitro Shad rigging
To get the most out of the Nitro Shad's vibration, it should be rigged on a Nitro Shad Head. The hook shank must not be parallel to the lure's axis, but mounted so that the head points downward. Seen from the side, the paddle tail will point downward, as will the weighted head. Rigged this way, on the retrieve, the lure will work against the water and multiply its vibration impact.
Straight retrieve or lift fishing?
Originally designed for lift fishing (an upward "pull" of the rod, followed by a controlled descent), this lure also handles fast straight retrieves perfectly well.
Colour
As for colour, the starting point is the water clarity. The clearer it is, the more natural colours you should use; the more opaque it is, the more you should go for flashy shades or dark tones, right through to black. This is a baseline that will need to be adjusted from day to day.
