The Berkley Sick Curl 12cm is the large format version of the Sick Curl, designed to target trophy pike and large zander that prefer sizeable prey. At 12cm, the spiralling action of the curled tail is even more visible and striking, generating a visual signature that large predators can detect from a distance.
At 12cm, the curl tail of the Sick Curl generates a wide spiralling rotation that creates water displacement visible over long distances. This natural and hypnotic action is particularly appealing to pike in the post-spawn period or in autumn, when they are actively feeding to build up reserves for winter. The free-fall spiral descent of the lure is often the trigger for the most spectacular strikes.
A pike of 70cm or more will typically not react to a 5-6cm lure it considers energetically unprofitable prey. The Sick Curl 12cm is in the ideal size range to trigger strikes from large fish while remaining compatible with standard rigs (jig head 14-40g, hook 3/0-5/0).
