A compact, powerful and reliable sea reel

The Daiwa Certate SW 2021 marks the arrival of the Certate in a Salt Water version, specially developed for saltwater fishing. Designed to meet the demands of sea anglers, it combines power, compactness and robustness in a format perfectly suited to active fishing.

A true heir to the Catalina, the Certate SW positions itself as an excellent compromise between the Certate LT and the Saltiga. It allows you to effectively target powerful fish, from sea bass to large marine predators, with a design built for sustained fights.

Monocoque Body, rigidity and power transmission

The Certate SW features a Monocoque aluminium body, a single-piece machined structure that reinforces the overall rigidity of the reel. This design limits deformation under heavy stress and effectively protects the internal mechanics.

The Monocoque Body also allows the integration of a large-diameter Tough Digigear drive gear, machined from G1 duralumin. This architecture improves retrieval power and provides more direct transmission during fights with powerful fish.

Enhanced smoothness and protection against salt

The Zaïon carbon Air Rotor provides lighter and smoother rotation, while maintaining an excellent level of resistance. This design improves fishing comfort, particularly during long casting sessions or sustained retrieves.

The Certate SW also integrates Magsealed technology, with a Magsealed bearing in the line roller and Magsealed oil around the main shaft. This protection enhances the reel's sealing against saltwater splashes and limits the impact of corrosive elements.

ATD drag, smoothness and control in combat

The ATD carbon drag offers great smoothness during powerful runs. It allows precise control to be maintained during the fight, while minimising line jerks.

Its very loud ratchet makes drag adjustment easier and enhances fishing sensations. This feature is particularly appreciated during fights with fast and powerful fish such as tuna, trevally or other exotic predators.

Handles adapted to different techniques

The fast-ratio models, H and XH, are equipped with an oval handle offering excellent grip and good adhesion during fights. It provides comfort and control during fast retrieves or casting sessions.

The slow-ratio models, P, feature a round EVA handle, particularly suited to vertical fishing. It facilitates leverage and control when the retrieve requires more torque.
